Director, External Affairs
As Director of External Affairs, Kevin represents Florida Commerce Park in working and partnering with state, regional and local economic development and community organizations, among other liaison activities. For decades, he has displayed leadership roles in civic activities in South Florida. Kevin currently serves on the Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District, which manages and protects water resources in the southern half of the state, covering 16 counties and 8.1 million residents. Kevin was appointed to the board by Governor Rick Scott and served on the board by appointment of the prior administration as well.
Kevin Powers is a founding principal of Florida LNG Group (FLiNG), the premier provider of merchant liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Florida and the Caribbean. He is also a principal and co-founder of Indiantown Realty, which is involved in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate sales, development and leasing. Mr. Powers’ management expertise also extends to global commodities trading. Previously, he was in senior management positions for 14 years in the citrus industry, most recently at DNE World Fruit Sales, one of the largest citrus marketers in the world, and before that at Lykes Bros. Inc., one of the largest citrus operators in Florida. As such, he was involved in every aspect of international trade from ocean-freight logistics to foreign distribution, retail contracts and more. Simultaneously during those years, he owned and operated a citrus grove and packing business.
Kevin received a B.S. in Economics from Florida State. He serves as a Director, Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce. Past civic positions include Director, United Way of Martin County; Director, Martin County Taxpayers Association, and; Director, Economic Council of Martin County.
